August 2, 2011: Investigation Confirmed for Glen Eira's Cr Penhalluriack

The Local Government Investigations and Compiance Inspectorate in Australia has confirmed it is investigating “a matter related to councilor Penhalluriack.”
The Camden Ward councillor raised questions about Glen Eira Council’s free mulch service and the possibility of residents contracting Legionnaire’s Disease. This concern led to the removal on the service in April.
In May the inspectorate said it was reviewing conflict of interest allegations made against Cr Penhalluriack, who owns a hardware store in Caulfield that sells mulch.
According to spokeswoman, Angela Smith, an investigation is underway but she will not make further comment.
